A Sand Hill Crane basking in morning light at Woodbridge Ecological Preserve
Back in November, 2020, I made a short trip to Woodbridge Ecological Preserve as I was tired of being inside the home for too long. It was just an hour drive from my place and I had recently gotten a new car, so had to test it too. I had heard about this preserve known for its Sand Hill Cranes from fellow birders/photographers and it seemed like a good short visit.
Reached the location right on time for sunrise and after a few mins, the cranes were in full action, basking in the morning light and giving some excellent photo opportunities. The viewing location has a nice spot. There was just one more photographer and we had ample amount of space to maintain a safe distance as there was still a deadly Covid variant around.

Even managed to see a Northern Mocking Bird and a White Crowned Sparrow

It was an awesome morning, no folks around to disturb the birds and beautiful light to capture these beauties. Longing to go back here, hopefully soon.
