Juvenile Cooper’s Hawk

Juvenile Coopers Hawk

A juvenile cooper’s hawk hanging around my friend’s place.

As part of the 4th of July long weekend, we were having a sleepover at a friend’s place in Foster City. One of my other friend who is on the same street, reminded me that a cooper’s hawk nest was on the main tree and the juveniles have been loitering around.

We did sight them in nearby trees. Unfortunately I hadn’t gotten my camera. My friend shoots with a Nikon d500 and had a 200-500mm lens ready with it and gave me to shoot this guy.

The entire setup felt so light for me and couldn’t believe that its the same lens I have. Since I recently used the 800mm, maybe I comparing with that weight in my hand. Whatever it was a joy to shoot with his setup.
